He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sr. Futch and Ruth Pauline Futch (Widner); his wife Tommie M. Futch; his daughter Patricia Ann Cleveland; his sister Susan; and his brother-in-law Lou Durbin.
He is survived by: his children, Johnnie Smith (Lynn), George V. Futch, III (Claudia), Frank Futch (Serena), Woodrow Futch (Kathy), Leonard Futch (Julie), Pauline Beeten (Richard) and Margarette Futch. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
