He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter Howell Bateman, Sr. and Alice Marie Bateman (Racey); his wife Dolores Elaine Bateman (Peck); his siblings, Charles Bateman and Martha Parsons; and his siblings-in-law, Glavis "Pie" Sisler, Ray Parsons, Carolyn Sue Thrasher, Bonnie Armstrong Bateman and Barbara Hershman Davis.
He is survived by: his siblings, John Bateman and Mary Bateman Sisler; and his siblings-in-law, Joseph Peck (Sheila), Ron Thrasher, Diane Lewis (Stephen) and Ruby Bateman.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Loch Lynn Church of God (8649 Gorman Rd, Oakland, MD 21550).
