It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Norene Ellington of Oakland, Maryland, who passed away on December 15, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Owen Stewart and Margaret Rippee (Ball); her stepfather Azril "Jack" Rippee; her sister Patricia; her brother-in-law Paul; and her brother Richard "Buddy" Rippee.

She is survived by: her husband Troy Ellington; her children, Cynthia Gray (Jim Hoard), Kenneth Hess (Becky) and Gerald Ellington (Yoshiko); her grandchildren, Derek, Daniel, Ashley, Sara and Erika; and her siblings, Thurma Lea Triplett, Anne Basham (Bill), Mona Messenger, Dona Zuckerman (Larry), Raylene Izak and Wally Steward (Sharon). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
