He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Chessman Jr. and Nancy Elizabeth Thorn (Libby); his wife Brenda Joyce Thorn (Malouin) of Christopher's Catholic Church; his son Kevin Thorn; and his granddaughter Elizabeth George.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Thorn, Benjamin Thorn, Jr. and Mary George; his grandsons, Austin and Anthony; his great grandchildren, Aidan, Harmony and Madison; and his brothers, Jeffrey Lawrence Thorn (Deborah), David Lyman Thorn (Alice) and Stuart Wallace Thorn.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church in Oakland, MD or the Garrett County Board of Education, of Garrett County, MD.
