He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade A. Bernard and Mary "Edna" Bernard (Custer); his wife Nancy Jane Bernard (Hardesty); and his sisters, Mildred Skipper and Dorothy Cathell.
He is survived by: his children, Amy Roth (Willie) of Oakland, Jamie Bernard (Ellida) of Midland, VA and Jason Bernard (Ashley) of Hagerstown; his grandchildren, Tyler Roth (Megan) of Oakland, Tayler George (Tynan) of Eglon, WV, Warren, Mary, Rosalie, Wade Bernard of Midland and Weston Bernard of Hagerstown; his great grandchildren, Barrett George and Walker Roth; and his siblings, Wilma Bernard of Cumberland, Mary Harvey (Joe) of Oakland, Leroy Bernard (Patricia) of Oakland, John Bernard (Norma) of Oakland and Robert Bernard (Joann) of Oakland. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
