He was predeceased by: his son Robert F. Gierhart III (Carol); his grandson Brennan; and his siblings, John A. Gierhart and Judith Van Sant. He is survived by: his wife Betty M. Gierhart; his children, Michael Dale Gierhart (Jenny) and Susan Bocek (David); and his grandchildren, Meghan, Ashley, Michael, Sarah, Daniel and Brandon. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
