With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eleanor Y. Austin of North Bethesda, Maryland, born in Middlefield, Connecticut, who passed away on January 15, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her husband Gil; her children, Sara Patterson Elizabeth (Karl Foertschbeck), Gilbert Austin Jr. (Donna Meyers) and Mary Austin (John Franco); and her brothers, Robert Yale (Marjorie) and Richard Yale (MaryAnn). She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor's name may be made to Reading is Fundamental, Special Olympics or The Heifer Project International.

Remembering the wonderful and fun times spent at the Madison beach house, and in Berlin, CT. It was so good to see A. Eleanor and U.
