He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Josefina Bucassas Dacanay; his son Santiago "Sonny" Dacanay Jr. (Grace); his grandchildren, Maria-Elisa (William Gallant) and Santiago "Joey" Dacanay III (Michelle); his great grandchildren, Alexander and Lily; his grandson Francis "Grayson" Dacanay; his parents, Vicente Dacanay and Rufina Halog; and also, Lee, Meg, Antoinette and Brooke. He was also cherished by the youngest of five brothers.
