She was predeceased by: her parents, Leigh Russell Buchanan Sr. and Jennie Buchanan (Haughey); her husband Raymond Carl Highsmith, Jr.; and her children, Scott Highsmith and Staci Highsmith Kjeldgaard.
She is survived by: her daughter Shelli McLane of New Windsor; her siblings, Jennie Ridgley of Arvada, CO, Leigh Buchanan, Jr. of Freeland, MD, Bob Buchanan of Louisville, KY and Rick Buchanan of Upperco, MD; her grandchildren, Andi McLane Ward and Ryan Scott Highsmith; and her great grandchildren, Alena McLane, James Dorrycott IV and Jocelyn Dorrycott.
