It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Hughes of New Windsor, Maryland, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on May 8, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Robert departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Robert may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Robert leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Eugene and Mary Anna Bollinger Hughes; and his sister Sandra Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Lucy Hughes; his children, Philip Eckard (Donna) of Union Bridge, Pamela Hughes Owings (Steve) of Westminster and Scott Hughes (Andrea) of Lebanon, Indiana; his granddaughter Alissa Owings; and his nephew David Greene (Kathy). He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
