He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Harold Hamilton and Mary Elizabeth Costin Hamilton; and his siblings, Calvin Hamilton and Marymagdalen Hamilton. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Mary Hamilton; his children, Jessica Winder (Wayne) and Erik Richard Hamilton (Nicole); his granddaughters, Madison and Emma Hamilton; and his siblings, Catherine Didas, Ann Houchins, Amy Myers (James), Patricia Casper, Patrick Hamilton (Deborah), Francis Hamilton (Nancy Zeno) and Mary Tyrrell.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for memorial donations to be made in memory of Richard, to the Philip A. Keelty Center for Spina Bifida and Related Disorders at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
