He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Schmitt and Kathryn Rappel; his wife Jeanette Walsh Schmitt (MIckey); his children, Robin Schmitt, Gail Carpenter, Christine Schmitt and John Schmitt, Jr.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Luciani, Joseph Schmitt, Kaitlyn Frost (Carpenter), Jason Schmitt and Kenneth Carpenter III (Casey); his great grandchildren, Christian, Dylan Wells, Jordan and Colton Frost; and his sister Ginny Atkins.
