He is survived by: his siblings, Vivian Coates, Wilford Coates and Carolyn Coates-Riddick (Johnie Riddick); his brother-in-law James Harris; his children, Kaneesha, Yvette, Carla, Shawte and Michael Coates; his grandchildren, Nigeria, Desmond, Devion, Jayceon, Der (Asia Coates), Bryce Keys and Carroll; and his aunts, Bonita and Delphie Ross.
