With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Coleman Riley Carpenter LCDR Jr. of Myersville, Maryland, born in El Paso, Texas, who passed away on January 11, 2024 at the age of 74. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonelle Carpenter (Queen) and Coleman Riley Carpenter Sr.; his stepfather John Sleeper; and his wife Eva. He is survived by: his sons, Brian of Frederick and Scott; his sister-in-law Anita (Gordon); his niece Joanna (David); and also Tereza. He is also survived by numerous other cousins and distant relatives.

A well loved and respected man, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him, as he was a pillar of integrity, kindness, and charity.

“Scott & Brian- Vickie and I are saddened to hear about the passing of your dad. Riley and I have been friends since high school where he was a trainer for the track team I was on. Your mom and Vickie had been childhood friends. We connected in DFW when they moved there from San Diego. Both your parents were good friends and we certainly remember you boys when you were much younger. Please pass on our sympathy to the rest of the family!
