He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Sue Murphy; and his parents, Mildred Murphy (Molesworth) and James H. Murphy. He is survived by: his children, Tina Murphy of Mt. Airy, Michael Murphy of Mt. Airy and Wendy Deavers (John Deavers) of Mt. Airy; his grandchildren, Brittany Snell (Cody), Ashley Gjerloev (William), Cheyenne Wroten (Adam) and Shane Deavers (Natalie); and his great grandchild Beckham Snell.
