He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Plesniak and Anna Plesniak; and his friend Michael Hogan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.. He is survived by: his wife Bernadette Jean Plesniak; his sons, Adam Plesniak (Peggy) of Huntington Beach and David Plesniak (Courtney) of Sacramento, California.; his sister Carol Bates of Glassport, Pennsylvania; his niece Danielle Bates; and his cousin Annette Golik of McKeesport, Pennsylvania.

“Anna Turek and the Turek family send our sympathies regarding the loss of Sonny. Anna is sorry she is unable to attend as she resides in an assisted care home due to her many ailments. Growing up, Sonny had a strong influence on his Turek cousins as he encouraged technical endeavors and relayed unclassified space program advancements. Three cousins have Engineering degrees due in part to him. May God bless the Plesniak family.”
