It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Virginia King of Mount Airy, Maryland, who passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Mel King; her children, Tamela Mills and Robert King (Mom Maxine Chaney); and her brother Sonny. She is survived by: her son Melvin King III (Nancy King); her brother Danny Chaney; her grandchildren, Ronald Mills, Shannon Mills, Melvin King IV (Courtney) and Amber Barnes (Ervin); her great grandchildren, Jacob Shrewsberry, Savannah Mills, Cole Wright, Layla Broadhurst, Kevin King, Miranda Barnes and Ervin Barnes III; her close friend Boxer; her sisters-in-law, Debbie Bennet and Brenda King; and her nieces, Harley King and Cheryl Stokes Walker.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home (21525 Laytonsville Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20882). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
