It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Erma Jane Gartrell of Mount Airy, Maryland, born in Woodbine, Maryland, who passed away on June 10, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Marvin Edward "Pete" Gartrell of Mt. Airy, MD; her parents, Ollie Porter and Mamie Porter; her son-in-law Harry "Junior" Duvall; and her siblings, Ruby, Margaret, Elsie, Irene, Myra, Dollie, Andrew and Carroll.

She is survived by: her children, Kim Gartrell Endres of Mt. Airy, Tammy A. Duvall of Woodbine and Tony M. Gartrell of Mt. Airy; her grandchildren, Jennifer Duvall, Jason Endres (Glynnis), Jacob Duvall, Justin Gartrell and Josh Gartrell; her great grandchildren, Natalee, Nathaniel, Zachary, Harrison, Cayden, Calvin and Nalayna; and her friend Donnell James. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
