He is survived by: his parents, Thomas R. Burnett and Irene Burnett (Salamon); his wife Lucy Burnett (D'Amario); his children, Lieutenant Timothy P. Burnett (Emily) and Julianna Burnett Chatlin (Michael); and his siblings, Michael Burnett (Frances), Donna Burnett Pace (Chuck), Shawn Burnett (Laura) and Brendan Burnett (Jill).

A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael Catholic Church (1125 St Michaels Rd, Mt Airy, MD 21771).
