He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McFarland and Gertrude McFarland. He is survived by: his wife Darlene McFarland; his children, Robin McFarland and Michael McFarland (Rochelle); his grandchildren, Mikayla, Austin and Devyn McFarland; and his sisters, Colleen Smith (Buddy), Cathy Morris and Dawn Metcalf. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
