He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Manuel Duarte and Domitila Cecilia Leiva. He is survived by: his wife Luisa Duarte; his children, Cecilia Duarte Ross (Larry), Nelia Duarte and Carlos Duarte; his granddaughters, Alejandra Maria Tyma and Maria Luisa Tyma; and his brother Luis Mateo Duarte. He is also survived by many cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
