It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alpha Amelia Pole of Montgomery Village, Maryland, who passed away on January 19, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husbands, Melvin L. Pickett, Sr. and Walter M. Pole; and her daughter Janice M. Brock. She is survived by: her children, Catherine A. Liston, Marlene E. Miller (Charlie), Melvin L. Pickett, Jr. (Judy) and Sharon P. Upchurch; and her sister Audrey Thompson of Pasadena, CA.. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
