He was predeceased by: his mother Pauline Leilamae Tom (Long); and his brother-in-law Stephen Varto. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Tom; his father Samuel Peter, Sr.; his children, Samuel Peter Tom, III and Heather Marie Tom; and his siblings, Louis Tom (Carol), Michael Tom (Barbara), Patti Socling (Dennis), Peggy Varto, Pamela Elwell (Michael) and Paula Branthoover (Alvin). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Fisher House Foundation or Donate Life America.
