He was predeceased by: his wife Edwina Hope Bilger (Jones); his parents, Guy Ellsworth and Emma Kathleen Bilger (Lingenfelter); his son Richard Bilger Jr.; and his siblings, Isabel Weyant, Kathleen Bilger and Norman James Bilger.
He is survived by: his siblings, Edith Fay Lutz of Stewartstown, PA and Gregory E. Bilger of Duncansville, PA; and his children, Edward William Bilger of Phoenix, AZ, David Scott Bilger Sr. (Christa) of Delta, PA, Mark Andrew Bilger (Nancy) of Hampstead, MD, Paul Herbert Bilger of Leesburg, VA, Kristina Hope Hoerl (Tom) of Rosedale, MD and Melissa Dawn Ensor (Greg) of Monkton, MD. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
