He was predeceased by: his wife Ilene Steinberg Freishtat; his grandson Noah Dubnow; his sister Mitzi Swan; and his parents, Jack Freishtat and Hanna Freishtat.

He is survived by: his children, Stacie Dubnow (Jeffrey), Beth Freishtat, Cindy Freishtat (Maria Flint), Gregg Freishtat (Ruth) and Holly Freishtat (Chris Steckler); his grandchildren, Erin Hunt (Jonathan), Jake Freishtat, Ethan Freishtat, Porter EganFrei, Caleb EganFrei, Tali Freishtat, Lev Freishtat, Heath Steckler and Clay Steckler; his great grandchild Leo Dubnow; and his granddaughter-in-law Krystle Contreras.
