He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernard S. Atkinson and Mary Ellen "Brown" Atkinson; his brothers, Alvin and Bob; and his brother-in-law Leonard.
He is survived by: his son Chris Atkinson (Jennifer) of Millington, MD; his siblings, Steve Atkinson of Millington, MD, Paige Morton (Glenn) of Millington, MD and Peg Hayman (Raymond) of Sudlersville, MD; his grandchildren, Abbey Atkinson of Pottstown, PA, CJ Atkinson (Kaitlyn) of Chestertown, MD and Josh Atkinson of Millington, MD; and his siblings-in-law, Mae Marvel of Magnolia, DE, Mattie Atkinson of Smyrna, DE, Leroy Cannon (Robin) of Galena, MD and Robin Joiner (Robbie) of Chestertown, MD. He is also survived by one great grandson on the way as well as many nieces and nephews.
