With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kathryn Ann Shearer of Midland, Maryland, who passed away on February 10, 2022 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Stakem and Catherine Stakem (Canty); and her brothers-in-law, Eugene "Buddy" Thrasher and Junior "Cram" Yates. She is survived by: her husband Paul Gene Shearer; her children, Brian Shearer (Molly), Maureen Shearer Lauder (George Lauder, Jr.), Madeline Shearer, Pete, Claire Lauder, Angelo, Emma Shearer, Grace Lauder and Jacob; her sisters-in-law, Brenda Thrasher and Betty Yates; her niece Sandy Yates Ayers; her nephews, Dan Yates, Joe Yates, Tom Thrasher and Todd Thrasher; and also, Alex Shearer and Shannon.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Kathryn to the Town of Midland, earmarked for the new nativity scene the town seeks to purchase.
