He was predeceased by: his father Richard E. Smith; and his brother Charles Donald Boyer. He is survived by: his wife Jo Anne; his sons, Robert Coady Boyer and Michael Gregory Boyer; and his grandchildren, Coady Lee Boyer and Brianna Paige Boyer.
Viewing was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes (106 E Church St, Frederick, MD 21701). A graveside service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Olivet Cemetery (515 S Market St, Frederick, MD 21701).
