It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edna Mae (Marker) Shafer (Middletown, Maryland), born in Myersville, Maryland, who passed away on August 29, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George R. Marker and Pearl V. Palmer Marker; and her siblings, Marvin "Bob" Marker, James "Jim" Marker, Ruth Wolfe, Polly Haupt and Daisy Travers.
She is survived by: her husband Glenn E. Shafer; her sons, Gary Shafer (Terry) of Middletown, Alan Shafer (Sandy) of Middletown and Dave Shafer (Paula) of Middletown; her grandchildren, John Shafer (Cassie) of New York, Holly Jenkins (Ian) of Jefferson, Crystal Tressler (Nick) of Frederick, Hannah, Adam, Aaron and Esther Shafer of Middletown; her great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Catherine Jenkins, David, Sophie and Audrey Tressler; her brother Clarence L. Marker (Mary) of Frederick; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Marker of Knoxville and Irene Eisentrout (Bill) of Middletown. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
