He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Adams Burtner; his parents, Lloyd Burtner and Carrie Huffer Burtner; his son William; his granddaughter Michelle; and his brothers, Carroll and Robert Burtner.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Gouge (Phil) of Libertytown, Karen Hausler (Wayne) of Sharpsburg, Gary Burtner of Sharpsburg, Neil Burtner of Jefferson and Joann Santora (John) of Boonsboro; and his brother Raymond Burtner of Frederick. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Valley Baptist Church.
