Shelby Jean Decker Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shelby Jean Decker of Mechanicsville, Maryland, born in Bandy, Virginia, who passed away on April 29, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Norman Jackson "Jack" Decker; her parents, Aubrey Curtis Beavers and Kathleen Claris Bandy Beavers; her siblings, Curtis Aubrey Beavers and Linda Sue Boyce; her grandsons, William Jackson "Billy" Smyth and Justin Allen Decker; and her caregivers, Olivia Jones, Darlene Long and Ann Rice.
She is survived by: her children, Rex Decker (Susan), Kathy Decker Wingo (Kenny), Becky Anderson (Wes) and Norma Clemons (Brian); her grandchildren, Travis Decker (Heather), Ryan Decker (Amanda), Joseph Smyth (Kirstin), Rachel Smyth Foudray (Brandon), John Smyth (Ariana), Erin Wingo Monn (Brandon), Hunter, Chase, Aidan Anderson, Jessie, Sammy Clemons, Cayden, Maddie Decker, Isaac, Emma Smyth, Maddox, Isabelle Smyth, Ava, Mason Foudray, Bella, Alex Ferrer and Lily Monn; her sister Lenora Hankins of Huntingtown, MD; and also, Robert and Nathan Decker. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
Jean passed peacefully from this life on an afternoon in April 2024 at the age of 85, after a 12-year long journey with Alzheimer's disease.
