She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter William Schmitz Jr. and Marjorie Helen Schmitz (McBain). She is survived by: her children, Bonnie Ballengee (Ralph), Deborah Canter, Sherri Bennett (Gregory Sr.), Paul Smith (Dawn), Steven Smith (Julie), Patricia Rabasco, Carol Norwood (David) and Will Smith (Heather). She is also survived by 21 Grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Edies name to Childrens National Hospital, Oncology unit in Washington DC, in memory of her great granddaughter Kayla Kiley.
