It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alfred Eugene Wood of Mechanicsville, Maryland, who passed away on July 14, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney M. Wood Sr. and Mildred Ann Pilkerton Wood; the mother of his children Mary Jean Wood; his daughter Brenda L. Manzie; and his grandchildren, Christopher and Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Wood; and his children, Thomas Wood (Cheryl) of California, MD, Joe Wood (Vicki) of Troutdale, VA, Robert Wood (Lisa) of West Oraville, MD, Jason Wood (Sandra) of Mechanicsville, MD and Loretta Moats (Walter) of Cheraw, SC. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
