She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Earl Shepherd and Agnes Norris Shepherd Adams; her former spouse Marion C. Joy, Sr.; her husband Joseph F. Twilley; her siblings, Robert Earl Shepherd, Thomas Eugene Shepherd, Francis Norris Shepherd, Lewis Theodore Shepherd and Betty Ann Kellam; and her daughter Diane J. Dixon (Bill) of Mechanicsville, MD..
She is survived by: her children, Linda L. Gray (Charles) of Lexington Park, MD, Bonnie S. Pineiro (Rafael), Calvin Joy, Jr. (Pattie) of Hollywood, MD, Nancy D. Burroughs of Hollywood, MD, David A. Joy (Inger) of Plattsburg, NY and Tammy M. Barrows of Callaway, MD; her son-in-law Bill Dixon of Mechanicsville, MD; her stepsister Mary Alma Goddard (Tom) of Piney Point, MD.; and her grandsons, Robert Schindler, Brian Stone, Charlie Gray, Mark Joy, Craig Barrows and Eric Joy. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department, the Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad, or St. John Francis Regis Catholic Parish, Hollywood, MD.
