She was predeceased by : her parents, David Milford "Toots" and Sarah Albertha Scott McElroy; and her husband Ralph Richard "Dick" Shirley. She is survived by : her aunt Mary L. Moats of Mt. Airy, MD; and her cousin Patricia Frey (Gary) of Mt. Airy, MD. She is also survived by several sister and brother in laws.
