He was predeceased by : his parents, Sadie E. (Huntington) and Ralph D. Eichelberger, Sr.; his foster parents, Lawrence Downey and Pauline Downey; his wife Frances Kretzer Eichelberger (Hamby) of Virginia; and his siblings, Carol Nakopoulos, Elaine Eichelberger Shatzer, Juanita Eichelberger and Ralph "R. D.".
He is survived by : his stepchildren, Sharon Poole (Kingsley) and Dennis Kretzer (Judy); his grandchildren, Denise Brining (Keith), Doug Kretzer, Casey Brawner (Rusty) and Sherry Pifer (Bill); his great grandchildren, Sami Attrill (T. J.), Lisha Dunlap (B. J.), Ashlyn, Bryson, Hayleigh Brawner, Kristin Dodson and Whitney Arnold; and his brothers, William H. "Bill" Eichelberger, Robert "Bobby" Eichelberger and Terry Eichelberger. He is also survived by 11 great-great grandchildren.
