She was predeceased by: her parents, John E. Brown and Sarah F. Waters Brown; and her siblings, Cecelia Graham, Mary Winder, Richard Brown, Barbara "Jenny" Goslee and Henry Anderson.
She is survived by: her son Damaina "Sam" Trower; her siblings, Myrtle Winder and Reese B. Brown; her grandchildren, Elexia Nichols and Damaina Trower, Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Nala, Kyra Nichols and King Nichols. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
