He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Nathaniel and Mabel Margaret Wentz Shaffer of Manchester; his son Dr. Steven N. Shaffer; and his brothers, Donald and Barry Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Judy J. Shaffer (Chenoweth); and his children, Michael B. Shaffer, Stacey Shaffer and Kristy Shaffer Marley (Mike). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
