Wilbur Chester Fox Obituary
Wilbur Chester Fox of Lutherville, MD died on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at age 89 at Gilchrist Hospice. Surviving are a brother, Robert Fox and his wife, Martha, a step daughter Kristine Toomey and her husband, Paul, 3 grandchildren (Kennedy, Keegan, and Brennan), and numerous nieces and nephews, and one sister-in-law Alice (Online) Fox, widow of Merle Upton Fox, the eldest of nine sons born to the late Wilbur & Myrtle (Brown) Fox, Sabillasville, MD. Chester and his twin brother Wilmer Lester Fox were close throughout childhood and their college years at University of Maryland, College Park. Maryland.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor, his two sons, Lester & Knowles Fox, his second wife, Annette Downs Fox, and 7 brothers, Glen, Merle, Lester, George, Paul, Richard, and K. Lee Fox. Chester was a veteran of the US Army where he served during the Korean War . He graduated from the University of Maryland and was an industrial arts teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools for over 30 years.
Chet enjoyed woodworking, calligraphy, clock repair, going to auctions, and spending time with his family. Per his request, he was cremated. A private Graveside Service & Interment will be held at Germantown Church of God, Cascade, MD on October 17th at 11 am with Pastor Mark Hosler officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to ALS Association.
