He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Langston F. Bate and Violet Bate (Hyson); and his daughter Mary Magez Sylvester. He is survived by: his wife Mary H. Bate; and his children, Charles W. Magez, Jr. of Arnold, MD and Julie E. Magez of Moseley, VA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
