With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Arlene Roslyn Brooks of Lusby, Maryland, born in Huntingtown, Maryland, who passed away on August 7, 2020 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Geneva Green Harrod; her sister Julia Freeland; her father Broome Harrod; her siblings, George Jr., Charles, Sr., Almous, Sr., Douglas Harrod, Mae "Peggy" Harrod and Margaret Lorraine Holland; her siblings-in-law, Gladys Harrod, Leatha Harrod, Florence Brooks, Mollie Brooks, Sylvia Harris, Irene Parran, Alfus F. Parran, Sr., Robert Harris, Sr., L. T. Fields, Herman Chew, Wardell Holland, Sr., Sterling Holland, Sr., Robert Williams, Henry Brooks, Jr., Howard Bernard Brooks, Sr. and Elder Brooks; and her grandson John "JJ" Leroy Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Judith "Judy" Harrod Plater, Alphonso Brooks, Jr., Alonzo Brooks (Margaret "Peggy"), Anthony "Tyrone" Brooks and Angel Brooks Mason; her friends, Juanita Jones, Carolyn Parran Gray, Virginia Lee Brown, Della Jones Wallace, Jane Willett, Phyllis Greene Reid, Carolyn Collins Massey, Elizabeth Thomas and Stella Hurley; her adoptive daughters, Denise Fields and Denise Sewell Carroll; her sister Darlene Harrod; her husband Funny Brooks of Prince Frederick; her siblings, Harry Harrod (Goldie), June Holland, Marion Brooks (Glenwood) and Carlene Harrod; her siblings-in-law, Geneva Hart, Shirley Brooks, Kathleen, Odella Chew, Rosalee Fields, Lorraine Williams, Joyce Brooks, MacArthur Brooks (Clarice) and Joseph Brooks (Ophelia); her godchildren, Almous Harrod, Jr., Damian Weems (Kia) and Marsha Harrod; and also Arlene. She is also survived by numerous other nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
