It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph William Doswell Jr. (Lothian, Maryland), born in Montgomery, Alabama, who passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Joseph William farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joseph William is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his mother Isabel Leatherwood Doswell; and his sister Jane Doswell Wade. He is survived by: his wife Diana Brewster Doswell; his children, James Benjamin Doswell (Lucy) and Caroline Kendall Doswell (Gus); his grandchildren, Lucy Betts Doswell and Harris Brewster Doswell; and his siblings, John Morgan Doswell and Anne Doswell Wright.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. James' Parish (5757 Solomons Island Rd, Lothian, MD 20711).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe may be made to the Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership at the United States Naval Academy.
