He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barksdale and Mamie Barksdale; and his nephew George Barksdale, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Moreland Churn Barksdale; his children, James R. "Chip" Churn of Annapolis, MD, Sandy Marshall (Paul) of Harwood, MD and Sherry Brewer (Sean) of Tampa, FL; his siblings, Jack Barksdale, Nancy Barksdale and Janice Jackson; and his grandchildren, Victoria Mackey and Sara Churn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Manning's memory may be made to the church.
