With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Holohan of Little Orleans, Maryland, who passed away on December 8, 2021 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond and Laura Hopfer (Hoffman); and her brother James F. Hopfer. She is survived by: her children, Stephen M. Holohan, Jr. (Mariann Monachello) and Denise M. Marshall (Joseph); her granddaughters, Colleen Holohan, Jennifer M. Younker (Sam) and Darleane M. Lowe; her great grandchildren, Adien L. Lowe, Rion J. Lowe, Laci E. Lowe and Olivia M. Younker; and her siblings, Barbara A. Hopfer, Joann M. Erskine, Arlene Wheeler, Dorothy M. Hopfer, Stephen E. Hopfer, Daniel W. Hopfer and Raymond Hopfer. She is also survived by her husband she is survived by two children.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Christmas for Others, c/o the Hancock United Methodist Church, 170 West Main St. Hancock, Md. 21750.

“Mr. Holohan and Family, I am so sorry to learn of Mrs. Holohan's passing. She was a lovely woman and I always looked forward to greeting her at church when I attended St. Peter's Parish in Hancock. I will always remember her contagious smile and her sweet demeanor. From the time I was a little girl she always was so kind to me and had a hug to share.
