He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman and Evelyn; and his sister Rita Fuhr. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Amelung; his children, Teri Amelung, Lauryn Willey (Ken), Pam Amelung, Herm Amelung (Monique) and Craig Amelung (Karen); his grandchildren, Matthew (Julie), Rebecca (Tom), Jordan, Taylor, Kendal, Stephanie (Leo), Courtney, Todd, Connor, Emily and Mason; his great grandchildren, Reese, Zachary, Paul, Landon and Natalie; and his sister Betty Boritz.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to either Mount St. Joseph High School or Special Olympics of Maryland.
