With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Pharis Vaughn of Lexington Park, Maryland, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, who passed away on November 7, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald J. Carlisle, Sr. and Frances Ollie Merritt; her siblings, Donald J. Carlisle, Jr. and Carle Johnson of Indian Hills; and her former husband Ralph F. Moreland, Jr..
She is survived by: her husband DeWitt "Chuck" Charles Vaughn, Jr.; her daughters, Elizabeth Vaughn Eubanks, Katherine Laura Vaughn and Susan Karen Vaughn-Ward; and her grandchildren, Adam Mohamed El Hani, Maria Noama El Hani, Sukayna Khadija El Hani and Phillip Charles Vaughn Ward. She is also survived by her children's friends, Karen was their second mom.
