We are sad to announce that on December 19, 2023, at the age of 86, Sophie Zimmerman of Leonardtown, Maryland, born in Bushwood, Maryland passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Sophie Zimmerman to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Laurie and Essie Mae Gibson (Owens); her husband Leon Ray Zimmerman; her foster daughter Sharon Riley; and her siblings, Thomas Laurie, Jr., James (Jim), Francis, Walter and Rosaline Thorne.
She is survived by: her children, Anna (Mike Lyon), Caroline, Alyssa Zimmerman, Kurt, Jason Zimmerman and Shannon Riley (Melissa Freedman); and her siblings, Mary Williams (Betty), Helen Hewitt and MacGuire Gibson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
