He was predeceased by: his brother Raymond Coontz; and his grandparents, Robert, Katherine Gandy, Jimmie and Frances Coontz.
He is survived by: his wife Laura Elizabeth Coontz; his children, Gavin Joseph and Charlotte Grace Coontz; his parents, Mark Alan Coontz Sr. and Mary Ann Blankenship; his siblings, Bobbie Coontz and Crystal Hebb; and his siblings-in-law, Michelle Fean (Jason), Stacy Wood (Eric) and Jason Bean (Anna).
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (21370 Newtowne Neck Rd, Leonardtown, MD 20650). A prayer was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery (21370 Newtowne Neck Rd, Leonardtown, MD 20650).
