With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sharon Ann Whitacre of Lavale, Maryland, born in Cumberland, Maryland, who passed away on September 10, 2023 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James E. Mellon and Wanda L. Mellon of Cumberland; her aunt Mildred Smith of Cumberland; and her son Brian P. Whitacre. She is survived by: her husband Ron Whitacre of LaVale; her son Adam Whitacre of Bel Air; her grandchildren, Alyssia Whitacre, Seth, Ethan Whitacre, Tim Reed (Sheri) and Kennedy Wolfe (Brandon Carnett); her great grandchild Brayden; her grandchild Gabby Wolfe; her daughter Bethany Beatty (Chuck) of Cumberland; her grandchildren, Brylynn and Drew Whitacre; her great grandchildren, Isabella, Makenna, Weston, Jaxon and Kolsyn; and her siblings, Debra Wadle (Rick), Donald Mellon (Irma) and James Mellon (Bonnie).
