He is survived by: his wife Carol Shafer (Blank); his sons, Gary Lee Shafer II (Tonja) and Mark Shafer (Janet); his grandchildren, Steven Schlegel, Ian Schlegel, David Shafer, Danielle Shafer, Ryan Shafer, Garrett Shafer, Gary Cosner and Chase Cosner; his great grandchildren, Rylee Shafer, Parker Shafer and Nolan Shafer; his sister Cheryl Blake (John); and his niece Anna Blake of Cumberland, MD.
